01

Working with InternetStop

How we work, how we get paid and what the first engagement looks like.

Are you a carrier or an agency?

An independent, carrier-neutral agency. We do not own a network. We design the right mix of carriers for your address and budget, place the orders and manage the relationship on your side of the table.

What does the first call cost?

Nothing. The discovery call, circuit inventory and carrier benchmark are free. If you want a formal RFP or a design review without implementation, we quote a fixed project fee for that work.

How are you paid?

Either a disclosed carrier commission on circuits we place, or a project fee from you. Never both on the same line item. If a recommendation is commission-driven, the proposal says so.

Do you only work with businesses in Texas?

Our on-site engineering is concentrated in Southeast Texas — Beaumont, Port Arthur, Orange, Houston and surrounding areas — but we source and manage circuits nationwide.

How big does a business need to be?

Most clients have between 10 and 500 employees. Below that, a single hosted voice deployment and a business circuit is usually the whole project.

Can you take over from our current IT provider?

Usually. We can act as the network and telecom layer under your existing IT team, or take the whole stack. We document what we find before changing anything.

02

Voice & phone systems

Numbers, porting, failover and what happens when the internet drops.

Can we keep our existing phone numbers?

Yes. Porting is included in every voice project. We submit the request, coordinate with the losing carrier and schedule the cutover outside business hours.

Do we need to replace our phones?

Not necessarily. Most SIP-compatible handsets can be re-provisioned. Where hardware is end-of-life we quote replacements at cost with no long-term device lock-in.

What happens to calls if the internet fails?

Calls fail over automatically to mobile apps or a secondary circuit. We can also add a 4G/5G failover router so inbound calls keep ringing during an outage.

Can you support remote and hybrid staff?

Yes — it is the default assumption. Every design includes softphones, mobile access and a documented work-from-home checklist.

Will call quality suffer on our current internet?

It can, if the circuit is shared and unsaturated. We test the line, configure QoS and recommend a dedicated circuit only when the numbers say you need one.

Do you handle E911 compliance?

Yes. We register every location, configure notification contacts and provide reporting suitable for multi-site compliance reviews.

03

Internet & networking

Install timelines, availability, SD-WAN and cabling.

How long does a fiber install take?

Where fibre already reaches the building, 15–30 business days is typical. Construction or a new carrier build can take 60–120 days. You get the carrier commitment in writing before signing.

Is fibre available at our address?

That is an address-level question. Send it through the coverage page and we will check every carrier we work with, including fixed wireless where fibre is absent.

Can we keep our existing ISP?

Yes. We frequently keep an incumbent circuit as a second path and add a diverse carrier for resilience.

Do you replace MPLS?

For most businesses, SD-WAN over diverse internet circuits does the job at a lower cost per Mbps with better cloud performance. Regulated environments may keep a private line for specific traffic.

Who configures the firewall and router?

We do, as part of a managed circuit or SD-WAN deployment. You receive the configuration documentation at handover.

Can you cable a new office?

Yes — Cat6/6A, fibre backbone, racks, APs and certification testing, scheduled around your move-in date.

04

Billing & contracts

Pricing, terms, audits and how to leave if we are not the right fit.

Will my price change after the survey?

Not silently. If a survey uncovers something that changes the scope, we reissue the quote and explain the difference before any order is placed.

Are installation fees included?

Sometimes carriers charge build or install fees. We negotiate them down or waive them where possible and show them as a separate, explicit line.

What contract lengths do you recommend?

As short as the pricing supports. Three years is common on fibre because it buys a better rate. Voice and managed services are usually available month-to-month.

Can you audit our current bills?

Yes. The initial audit is free. We reconcile invoices against inventory, flag billing errors and pursue credits with the carrier.

How do we cancel or downgrade?

Give us written notice and we handle the carrier side, including disconnect dates and equipment returns. No exit fee is charged by us unless a project fee was explicitly agreed.

Do you provide one invoice?

Where carriers allow consolidated billing, yes. Otherwise we produce a single monthly summary across all carriers alongside the individual invoices.

Still stuck?

Ask a strategist directly.

One call, no obligation. If the answer is “you don’t need us”, we will say that.
